Mosope Atanda-Lawal is a seasoned investment professional with over 15 years of experience in financial services, spanning investment banking, portfolio management, and development finance.
She currently serves in the Financial Institutions Group of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, which oversees investment transactions and portfolio management across six East African countries. Prior to this, she had a brief stint in the South Asia region, covering India and Bangladesh, amongst other countries.
Mosope’s career is distinguished by a commitment to sustainable finance, strategic investment structuring, and regional economic development. At IFC, Mosope has led landmark transactions including the first green bond issuance in Tanzania and has played a pivotal role in diversifying the Eastern Africa portfolio through investments in microfinance and insurance, driving sectoral growth and innovation.
Prior to IFC, Mosope was the Head of the Alternative Investments Desk at AXA Mansard Investments Limited (a member of the AXA Group), where she managed private equity investments and commercial property portfolios, with successful exits. She was also a member of the Investment Committee of the AXA Mansard Money Market Fund. Mosope also worked at Afrinvest Limited in the Investment Research team, producing industry and company-specific research reports.
Mosope is recognized for her expertise in complex financial negotiations and for fostering inclusive growth through sustainable investment. Her work has contributed to regional development, financial inclusion, and the strengthening of institutional capacity across Africa.
Mosope holds an M.Sc. Development Finance from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and graduated with a B.Sc. Economics (Distinction) from Covenant University, Nigeria, where she met her life partner, Fuad Atanda-Lawal. Their marriage is blessed with two amazing children.
